The Secret Adversary
The Secret Adversary was the second novel Agatha Christie ever wrote. It introduced the characters of Tommy and Tuppence and was inspired by a conversation Christie overheard in an ABC cafe. Two women were discussing someone called Jane Fish. Christie rather liked the name. She changed it to Jane Finn and began to write a novel called The Joyful Venture. The title eventually changed to The Secret Adversary and became the first Christie book to be made into a film.
