A story named The Capture of Cerberus was included in The Labors of Hercules and published years ago.It seems that the now discovered story has the same title but is not the one that was published in the past.Am I correct?

I ran out and bought it. Unfortunately, it only has half of the story. The rest comes in Monday's issue.
Just to let you know: IT IS NOT THE SAME CAPTURE OF CERBERUS FROM 'HERCULES', IT IS A BRAND NEW STORY!!!
It's very political and features the return of the Countess Vera. It is a different, new story, about a murder of a basic Hitler-homage. That's all I'm going to reveal...

It sounds amazing. I've been trying to get hold of it of my uncle who reads the mail every day but i still haven't got it yet. As soon as I do I won't be doing anything else except reading it.

When is the new book going to be out in the States? As of now I don't have the dosh to send for one.
GKCfan on 24 Aug 2009 at 6:33 p.m. GMT
Amazon.com says the release date is September 3, 2009.
I just finished reading Part 2– the story is clearly an early draft: Christie would have revised and lengthened it later, but it's very interesting for how it reflects the time period and her own hopes and fears for the future.

Aye, read it in the Mail today. It wasn't worth waiting for.

I did not like the story that much either, especially the idea it presents. But I still think that every one is being unnecessarily harsh. One must remember that this was a mere draft and not a finished product. BTW, my heartfelt gratitude to GKCfan. Without you, I wouldn't know where to look for this story as I live far, far away from England and have no way of getting a copy of The Daily Mail. Thank you very, very much.

Is there any idea when the reproduction of this discovered stories into a book will be finished? And will they ever arrive to a translation?
GKCfan on 27 Aug 2009 at 4:58 p.m. GMT
The book comes out September 3rd. As far as I know, they're only in English right now, but given the popularity of Christie's work it seems probable that the "lost" stories will be translated translated into many foreign languages eventually, we just don't know when.

We've just had confirmation that "The Secret Notebooks: Fifty Years in the Making" by John Curran will be published in the USA next year. We're still waiting to hear confirmation on dates but will add an article to the USA home page of the site as soon as we have more details.

I thought it was coming out this year?

The book has been released in the UK this year, but the US edition is coming soon. Actually, there are probably plenty of ways that readers outside the UK can get copies.

According to Amazon.com, Agatha Christie's Secret Notebooks will be released in America on February 23, 2010!
