Next to a Dog

Widow Joyce Lambert is poor and out of work.  So fond is she of her little half-blind ageing terrier Terry, a gift from her late husband that she will do just about anything to keep him!

This story gave Christie the opportunity to indulge in her well-known love of dogs, particularly wire-haired terriers. She obviously had a huge affection for these creatures which comes out again in Dumb Witness.
