Tape-Measure Murder
The village of St Mary Mead is shocked by the tragic murder of Mrs Spenlow but one man doesn’t appear affected at all – her husband! When he claims to have been visiting Miss Marple on her request, his alibi is quickly called into account. Did he indeed murder his wife and could it really be that simple?
Miss Marple meets her old friends Colonel Melchett and Inspector Slack in this story originally published in 1941 (USA) and 1942 (UK). In the UK it appeared in Strand Magazine under the title The Case of the Retired Jeweller.
It can be found in Miss Marple's Final Cases and also in Three Blind Mice and Other Stories in the US.
