The Man from the Sea
Satterthwaite has moved to a Mediterranean island where he encounters Anthony Cosden, just as Cosden is about to leap to his death. Apparently this was not Cosden’s first attempt; only yesterday he had been stopped from jumping by Harley Quin. Can they bring back happiness to the poor man’s life?
This story is an exceptional one for Christie; the quality of the prose is superb and you can sense her own beliefs in the writing. It also draws on Christie’s knowledge of opera, a love which is shared with Mr Satterthwaite. This short story is part of The Mysterious Mr Quin.
