Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie

Agatha Christie's iconic mysteries are given a stylish, colourful twist in the second series of these French adaptations set in the 1950s and 60s, with new characters taking on Christie’s clever plots.

Overview

Les Petits Meurtres d’Agatha Christie provides a unique cocktail of comedy and thriller loosely inspired by Agatha Christie’s mystery novels. The hit series has been entertaining audiences since it first aired on France 2 in 2009, with series two being set in the colourful and glamorous world of the Fifties and Sixties.

Commissaire Laurence, obnoxious and macho yet irresistible, investigates the mysteries created by the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie. Young journalist Alice Avril, an ardent feminist, will do anything for a news headline and her ongoing disputes with Laurence provide endless entertainment. Luckily Laurence can rely on his faithful secretary Marlène, a reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe.

This popular series came to an end in October 2020 with a musical finale on France2, the 27th episode to star Samuel Labarthe, Blandine Bellavoir and Élodie Frenck.
