About the Plot

England, 1954. On a train to London, Fitzwilliam (David Jonsson) meets Miss Pinkerton (Penelope Wilton), who tells him that a killer is on the loose in the sleepy English village of Wychwood under Ashe.

The villagers believe the deaths are mere accidents, but Miss Pinkerton knows otherwise – and when she's later found dead on her way to Scotland Yard, Fitzwilliam feels he must find the killer before they can strike again. Because for a certain kind of person, murder is easy…

About the book

Murder is Easy

Does the elderly Miss Pinkerton really have a woolly mind, or one as sharp as nails?

A chance encounter upon Luke Fitzwilliam's arrival in England leads to an intriguing investigation. He attempts to uncover the truth behind Miss Pinkerton's assertion that a murderer is operating in Wychwood, with various seemingly unconnected victims in the village. With help from local Bridget Conway, Luke will adopt a spurious spooky cover story to try to find out whether murder really can be easy...

Join Luke Fitzwilliam on his trip to a village where numerous people have supposedly been murdered. Skilfully narrated by actress Gemma Whelan, this latest audiobook edition will have listeners captivated from the start. Will you be able to piece together the clues to solve this one, before the protagonist comes to harm?

I’ve come down here on a wild goose chase—on a fantastical and probably quite absurd and melodramatic supposition.
