Perhaps the only one not amused by Tommy and Tuppence’s amateur sleuthing, Detective Inspector Merriot is a seasoned police officer with a no-nonsense approach to detective work. She doesn’t welcome Tommy and Tuppence’s meddling, and as an officer who’s weathered her fair share of budget cuts, she’s irritated at those who she views as true crime obsessives chasing
cases for the fun of it.

Chizzy Akudolu is an actor and presenter working across television, film, and theatre. Her recent screen work includes The Woman in the Wall, Criminal Record, Best Interests, and Little Disasters, alongside a wide range of credits such as Beyond Paradise, Grace, Death in Paradise and Dead Set.

She is widely recognised for her long-running role as Mo Effanga in Holby City, as well as her strong presence across entertainment television. Her appearances include Strictly Come Dancing and MasterChef, and she has been a regular panellist on Loose Women. More recently, she stepped up as host of ITV’s Sorry, I Didn’t Know, where she has served as an original team captain since the show’s inception. Her stage work includes productions with Frantic Assembly and Birmingham Rep.
