Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie - 70s returns to France2 in May 2023

Gréco, Beretta and Bellecour are back for two brand new episodes in 2023. Airing on France2 on May 5th and May 12th, both installments are inspired by the works of Agatha Christie.

Jusqu’à ce que la mort nous sépare

Two single women are murdered several weeks apart. Their common denominator? They'd both recently joined the same matrimonial agency, For Life, in the hopes of meeting their soulmate. Gréco decides to trap the murderer by joining the agency herself, taking the risk of accepting dinner invitations from suspicious singles… Meanwhile, Rose discovers that Max Beretta is also an active member of For Life.

Meurtres du 3ème type

Claude Lacombe, host of the famous TV show The Far Reaches of the Cosmos, is found dead in mysterious circumstances. Newspapers are billing it as a “Murder of the Third Kind” committed by aliens. Gréco must keep her cool in a surreal investigation, while Beretta falls under the spell of the Ministry’s astrophysicist and starts believing in flying saucers.

The first episodes of Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie - 70's aired on France2 in 2021-22. You can watch previews and catch-up with the show on the France2 website.

Introducing the series: Les Petits Meurtes d'Agatha Christie - 70's

After 11 episodes set in the 1930s (Season 1) and 27 in the 60s (Season 2), Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie has had a makeover as it moves on to the 70s with fresh characters and a brand new cast.

Why the 70s? First, because it is an exciting, wild decade. The tone is colourful and jubilant, futuristic and psychedelic. Orange and lime-green are everywhere. The outfits are fantastic: miniskirts with thigh boots and trousers with the obligatory flares. Hippies and bright printed fabrics abound.

The 1970s are also fascinating in terms of new freedoms. But sexual liberation and feminism go hand in hand with a staggering degree of male chauvinism. Virile men are king with their fast cars and cheesy pickup lines, giving the show the perfect opportunity to humorously deride certain kinds of attitude. Les Petits Meurtres was already a feminist series in the 1960s and is even more so in the 1970s!

1972. It all begins when a woman arrives at the police precinct in the northern French city of Lille. She has just been appointed captain in a government experiment, a first in France. Annie Gréco. Gréco chooses to team up with the precinct wild man, Max Beretta. On their first crime scene visit our third lead makes her appearance. Rose Bellecour is a stylish and smart young woman, and a gifted psychologist. In the company of this new trio, we set out for more adventures!
