Max Beretta is a great detective, but also a ticking time bomb. He loses it with suspects and pulls his gun at every opportunity. He is a domineering, macho male, typical of his day. If you asked him to describe himself though, he would say he's first and foremost a good cop. He has the instinct, the nose to sniff out lies and skulduggery and secret vices. And he rarely gets it wrong. Can he learn to control his anger, so he can work together with the new Captain?
