Henry Goodman plays Sidney Prynne

Henry Goodman is Sidney Prynne. Loud, fast-talking Northern businessman who is coming apart at the seams. He works in ladies’ stockings and loves the sound of his own voice.

Henry Goodman is an Oliver Award-winning English actor whose extensive acting career includes a wide range of roles in theatre, television, film and radio. Born in London’s East End, Henry began his acting career aged ten in the WWII drama Conspiracy of Hearts. Goodman won the Oliver Award for Best Actor in a Musical playing Charles Guiteau in Assassins at the Donmar Warehouse and the Oliver Award for Best Actor in the role of Shylock in The Merchant of Venice at The National Theatre. Alongside The ABC Murders, Henry will also feature in the Watership Down for the BBC this year.
