Blackmail and murder ensue, when a young man meets an actress he idolises and things don't turn out quite how he expected.

The story was first published in 1923 in Novel Magazine under the title A Trap for the Unwary and it was not published in a collection until 1997, when it appeared in While the Light Lasts and Other Stories in the UK and The Harlequin Tea Set and Other Stories in the US.

It has never been adapted.
