Who is Tommy Beresford? 

A successful novelist, Tommy is suffering from writer’s block when his encounter with Tuppence shakes him out of his doldrums. ”Professionally, he’s struggling,” says Dylan. “Personally, he’s ready for an adventure and something new. He's living and breathing these plots and has a passion for crime, but being pulled into the actual world of crime and experiencing it first hand is another matter.” In all the ways Tuppence is a whirlwind, Tommy is a steady force, using his logical, writer’s brain to connect the dots and find concrete evidence to help bring their cases to a close.

Josh Dylan will next be seen as the co-lead role of Tommy in the series, Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence, for BritBox, alongside Antonia Thomas and Imelda Staunton, and in the West End this Autumn in Who’s Afraid of Virigina Wolf? opposite Gillian Anderson and Billy Crudup. He has just wrapped filming on the independent film, Scorn, opposite Adria Arjona and can currently be seen in the BAFTA nominated feature film, H is for Hawk, directed by Philippa Lowthorpe, opposite Claire Foy and Brendan Gleeson. He plays a leading role in The Buccaneers for Apple TV+ and can be seen in the second series, which premiered last summer.

Earlier in his career, he starred as the young Bill Anderson, whose older version is portrayed by Stellan Skarsgård in Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again. He then went on to work in leading roles in several critically acclaimed series, including The End of the F**king World, Noughts + Crosses, Allied and Apple TV’s Masters of the Air.
