Murder on the Orient Express: A Box Office Hit

Motoe The Box Office Hit

November 2017 marked the release of the first major global Agatha Christie movie adaptation in almost thirty years and the film is already a box office hit!

Based on Agatha Christie’s bestselling book of the same title, 20th Century Fox brought Murder on the Orient Express to life with an all-star cast led by Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot. Written by Michael Green (Blade Runner 2, Logan), and produced by Ridley Scott (The Martian), Simon Kinberg (The Martian, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Mark Gordon (Steve Jobs), the film was destined for success, and the box office figures have proven the triumph. Figures to date mark it as the 34th highest grossing movie of 2017 in the US, breaking the $100 million mark at the very end of the year (source: Box Office Mojo). Having been released in over 80 countries, it’s marked as the 28th highest grossing movie of 2017 worldwide. Two months after its debut release, Murder on the Orient Express has already been nominated for awards including for the Best Production Design award at the Critics Choice Awards and Art Directors Guild Awards.
