A successful medium is looking towards retirement, but will perform one last séance for a woman who is suffering from the pain of losing her young daughter.

The story was published in book form in the Oldhams Press edition of The Hound of Death in 1933, available by collecting coupons from a magazine entitled The Passing Show and was only released in the UK. It first appeared in the US in the collection Double Sin and Other Stories, 1961. It was adapted for BBC Radio 4 in 2010 with a full cast and an altered modern setting.
